You know how it is: looking up at the clock, hardly believing the time; staring at unchecked boxes on your planner; realizing it’s time to go to community day now.
It seems like all the challenge students I know, including myself, struggle with getting assignments done. Is there a way to make this happen?
I didn’t realize how long it would take.
It ended up being harder than I thought.
I did the easy stuff first, and now I don’t have enough time to finish it all.
The school year is coming up fast—yes, fall is nearly here! Having gone through two years of Classical Conversations Challenge program already, I have some tips for you that might come in handy.
1. Understand what your assignments are.
This is really important! Usually, this is the first step of my weekly scheduling. I flip through my challenge guide and look at all my assignments for the week. This gives me a good understanding of what needs to be done before the next class day.
2. Figure out how long you take to complete each assignment.
Knowing how long you take to do certain assignments is essential to getting everything done. It may take a few weeks/months or even a whole semester to really know how much time you need. I usually do my longer assignments first and then easier ones during the afternoon. Find what works for you!
Having a schedule or plan helps me stay on track. Planning may not work for everyone, so figure out your own style. Simply having a goal to strive for helps get me through the rougher times. Of course, the planner (schedule) is only as good as the planner (you). You can do it, though! It’s time to go get things done!
